had you asked this a year ago, i would have said LUCK to you.
but there is now a time share web site and realty firm and that
is their specialty. if you don't find it within 48 hours get back to me
and I will find it for you.

[btw--you might get 1/5h of what you paid--or its worth]

  1. Try LiveSimon at http://www.LiveSimon.com for free auctions or classifieds.

Or if you would prefer to sell it locally and place an ad without all the registering, try LiveSimon Posts at http://www.LSPosts.com

eBay has a lot of fees, and craigslist has a lot of spam.

  2. What you want to do is “rent” not “sell” your timeshare week.
To rent a timeshare is a hard task, the basic rule is not to pay money up-front, don’t be another victim of a scam.

Unfortunately over 50% of people that really need to rent their timeshare falls for this resale scams where they charge money upfront and less than 10% of them use their only real option which is to post it or offer it trough free advertising options as much, and as many sites as they can (it is ok to pay a few dollars to post in a great place but no more that $20 to $30).

There are some free classified ads where you can start posting:

    http://timeshareownerscommunity.com/
    http://craigslist.com
    http://ebay.com
    http://recycler.com/
    http://usfreeads.com/
    http://www.inetgiant.com/

  3. You have a couple of choices:
    1. Post it on http://www.VRBO.com – its a big website for “vacation rental by owner”. Alot of people use that.
    2. Join RCI – it’s a timeshare community where you pay a membership fee, deposit your timeshare in their “bank” and you get to “withdraw” your time at a similar timeshare worldwide. Checl them out at http://www.RCI.com and then call to speak with someone there to see if your timeshare qualifies.
    3. Call the management company of the timeshare you have – they will usually be able to rent it out for you.
    4. Post it on http://www.craigslist.com. Post it in the San Francisco Bay Area version since alot of people head up to tahoe from there.

  4. You have a couple of other options besides what has already been posted. I would check with the timeshare company to see if they have a rental program. Wyndham has a program called Extra Holidays that makes it very convenient for owners who want to rent out there points or weeks. They do all the advertising and administrating duties for the owner. Another option if you belong to RCI is redweeks.com, and a new one that I just learned about is DAElive.com.
